William G. ”Bill”” Hoytink, age 95 of Baldwin, died on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Baldwin Area Medical Center. Bill was born on June 2, 1919 in Baldwin Township to parents Benjamin and Gertrude (nee Peters) Hoytink. Bill attended country school at East Pine Lake School and Carr Creek School. After his schooling, Bill began his life as a farmer. On October 9, 1945, he would be united in marriage to Hazel Ann Brummels at the First Reformed Church in Baldwin. Their union in marriage would be blessed with a son, Roger, a daughter, Roxanne, and over 68 years of love and devotion to each other.

Bill’s day-to-day life centered around his family, his farm, and his faith. He served on various boards locally, and as both a Deacon and an Elder at his church. Bill farmed until he retired in 1984, and after that, he enjoyed his retirement by helping friends in the fields of their farms.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Hazel; his son, Roger (Bette) Hoytink of Winneconne WI; his daughter, Roxanne (Steve) Geurkink of Bloomer WI; grandchildren, Todd (Nicole) Hoytink, Ryan (Heather) Hoytink, Garett (Molly Green) Geurkink, and Lindsey Geurkink; great-grandchildren, Joel, Grace, Lily, Alexandra, and Graham Hoytink; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Minnie (John) Omann; and three sisters-in-law and their husbands.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 10th at the First Reformed Church, 1120 11th Avenue in Baldwin, with Pastor Tim Sluiter officiating. Burial will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00pm on Wednesday at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin, and also 1 hour prior to services at church on Thursday morning. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI. 715-684-3434
