William John Kavaloski

William John Kavaloski, age 85, of Hudson, WI died Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Bill was born on May 31, 1938, to John and Anna (Mack) Kavaloski in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  He was united in marriage with Marie (Dunn).  They enjoyed traveling and spending time at their place on the lake in Chetek.  Together they would winter on the Colorado River.

William was a gregarious man.  He thrived on the relationships that he built with others over the years and couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone that he knew.  He will be remembered by some as Neighbor Bill—the guy in the neighborhood who would help anyone with anything!  His happy place was being surrounded by the people he cared about, telling stories, remembering good times from the past, and sharing many laughs.  He truly loved his family and friends and he knew how to throw a great party!  If you were ever looking for Bill, you probably checked the garage first…he spent much of his time in his shop fixing, fabricating, and welding.  He took pride in the cars that he built and restored over the years, everything from sprint cars to classic cars.  You may have seen him driving his 1946 Hudson with the raspberry colored paint.  It was a beauty!  He also treasured his fishing trips to Canada which were always more about making memories and less about the fish.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Marie, grandson Dylan, brother James, sister-in-law Judy and his parents John & Anna.

He is survived by his children Charles (Kim), Amy, David (Brie), Kathleen; grandchildren Joni, Jamie, Jessica, Audrea, Malcom, Michael, Marlayna, Kendra, Ryan, Maddison; great-grandchildren Blake & Blair; brothers Harry (Sharon) & Richard (Carol); many nieces & nephews.

Funeral services entrusted to O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.

  1. I haven’t seen the Kavaloski clan in decades, but I think I recall a story of how Bill would put his bread dough on the waterbed to rise before baking. At the time I thought that was pretty funny, of course I was like 20 something and what did I know back then! My sincere condolences to the entire family

  2. So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. One of my favorite memories is the Mack reunion in Spooner hosted by Bill and Marie and going to “High Tea” on the pontoon boat. My condolences to you all.

    Dennis MACK
