William “Bill” Thomas Roberts of Ellsworth died at the age of 80 on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at his home in the presence of his two best friends- his wife Linda and cat Eydie.
Bill was born on January 17, 1936 in Redwood Falls, MN as the son of Everett and Marie (Moxal) Roberts. He attended Morton High School in Morton, MN. He served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean War. Bill married Loretta Snyder and they later divorced. On September 29, 1980 he married Linda Arndt in Crystal, MN. He was a longtime employee of HCMC in Minneapolis, MN.
Bill enjoyed football, reading, and gardening – especially tomatoes. He treasured the time that he spent with his family. Bill was a great man who will be loved forever and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 35 years, children Michael, Kathleen, Gregory, Debra, and Frank, several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Evelyn (Ray) and Lucy (Tom). He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents Everett and Marie,son Thomas, sisters Marian, Dorothy, and Theresa, and brother Floyd.
A private committal service will take place at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
