Yvonne C. Peterson

Yvonne Carolyn Peterson, age 79, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin, passed away on September 26, 2023, at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Yvonne was born on December 22, 1943, to parent’s Vincent and Blythe (Van) Pierce in Plum City, Wisconsin.

Yvonne was united in marriage with the love of her life, Albert Peterson, on October 14, 1961 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Wisconsin (Martell Township).  Together they raised two boys, Troy and Todd.  Yvonne worked in a variety of settings, but being the best mother and wife to her family was most important.

As a young family, Yvonne and Albert would bring their boys camping.  She greatly enjoyed the outdoors, although through time, appreciated the kind of camping that involved getting a nice night’s rest at a motel.  That didn’t change her love for fishing though.  She always had fun fishing on the Chippewa Flowage. As a homemaker, Yvonne enjoyed making the home feel welcoming.  She would spend much of her time painting pictures.  When getting out of the house, Yvonne loved shopping and bringing home the best items she could find.

Yvonne is survived by her loving husband Albert Peterson; children, Todd Peterson and Troy (Barb) Peterson; grandchildren: Jessica Faith (Christian) Grognet, Cody (Bridget) Peterson, Tara Peterson, and Derek (Hailey) Peterson; great-grandchild, Charlotte Peterson; siblings, Orville (Sally) Pierce and Joy (Vernon Mitchell) Ketterling; sisters-in-law, Carol Peterson and Waynette (Bob) Whittenberg; brother-in-law, Greg (Sue) Peterson; and many other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Blythe Pierce; parents-in-law, Edor and Martha Peterson; granddaughter, Courtney Peterson; sister-in-law, Eldora (Jerry) Stark; and brothers-in-law, Rolly Peterson and Wayne Peterson.

A Celebration of Life Service for Yvonne will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Abundant Life Church, 896 WI-65, River Falls, WI 54022.
