Yvonne Mae Kulow

Yvonne “Vonnie” Mae Kulow, age 86, of Ellsworth, WI, passed away October 26, 2021 at Ellsworth Health Services. Vonnie was born February 3, 1935 in Plum City, WI to Joseph and Alice (Thies) Kahabka. She graduated with the class of 1953 from Plum City High School. Vonnie was united in married to love of her life, James Martin Kulow on August 4, 1956 in Plum City. Their marriage was blessed with seven children, Jeffrey, Joel, Kyle, Kent, Jamie, Gina, and Colin.

Yvonne was a devoted wife, mother and catholic and was especially proud of her loving husband, James and each one of her children. Throughout the years, Vonnie was involved in countless civic organizations around the community. She was a “Lay Minister” for St. Francis Catholic church for over 20 years, worked at the Ellsworth Food Shelf for 14 years, the Brotoloc Home and operated a child daycare. She had a heart full of love that she shared with everyone that she touched throughout her long life. She was very proud of her service to the Maiden Rock Ambulance service as an EMT. Vonnie will be greatly missed by so many friends and family.

Yvonne will remain in the heart of her loving husband, James; children, Joel (Carola) Kulow, Kyle (Bobbie) Kulow, Kent (Teri) Kulow, Jamie (Brandon) Melstrom, Gina (Dave) Hamilton, and Colin (Bryan) Kulow; grandchildren: Chad, Chase(Heather), Carlie, Kylee (Kyle), Maddie (Jason), Carson (Elise), Chrystian, Alec, and Owen, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren on the way along with many family and friends. Vonnie was preceded in death with her parents, Joseph and Alice Kahabka, stepfather, Wilfred Kannel, and her son Jeffrey James Kulow.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021 with Father David Olson officiating. Visitation (masks are recommended) will be from 10:00 a.m. until the start of Mass. The service will be livestreamed to: https://youtu.be/lUFySkVlqdM Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Plum City, WI.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ellsworth Health Services where Yvonne lived for the last 3 months, for their loving care. Further appreciation is extended to St. Croix Hospice for their care, guidance, and support.

Memorials honoring Yvonne Kulow may be given to the St. Francis Catholic Church (remodeling project).
