James P Lokrantz

James “Jim” P. Lokrantz, 81, of River Falls, died on Monday, April 1, 2014 at Comforts of Home in Hudson.He was born on April 19, 1932 to Bill and Emma Lokrantz in Chippewa Falls, WI.Jim graduated from Chippewa Falls McDonald high school in 1950. Jim attended college at Eau Claire WI, then served in the Army from 1952 to 1954, were he was stationed in Germany. Then he moved to Minneapolis where he met his wife, Evelyn Peterson of River Falls. On November 14, 1959 they married and lived in Crystal, MN for 16 years. In 1975 they then moved to River Falls where they owned and operated the Shoe Den on Main Street for 12 years. Jim worked for NSP, now Excel Energy and retired after 33 years of service.He loved his family and being a part of the River Falls community. Jim had a great passion for golfing. He and Evelyn spent their winters in Arizona where they could continue their passion of golf.Jim is survived by his four children; Greg (Deb) Lokrantz, Diane(Ed) Claycomb, Brian (Julie) Lokrantz and Brad (Deb) Lokrantz, seven grandchildren; Jeremy, Amanda, Brady, Max, Brynna, Riley and Abbi, two great grandchildren, Cole and Baby Gunderson, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.He is preceded in death by his wife; Evelyn, parents, two siblings; Bill (Betty) Lokrantz and Janice (Clyde) Hanson.The family prefers memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue 7th FL, New York, NY 10001.
