Eugene Victor Janisch, age 88, of the town of El Paso, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Ellsworth Care Center.Gene was born on March 28, 1926 at home in the town of El Paso, to Victor and Eva (Birkel) Janisch.He married Betty Lou Stachele on May 30, 1948. Together they farmed and raised a family in the town of El Paso. Along with farming Gene worked for Cudahy and Rifken Packing. He also worked for the Pierce County Highway Dept. mixing blacktop. For 48 years Gene worked alongside his brothers Marvin and Melvern in the Maple Syrup business.Gene served as town chairman for the town of El Paso for many years and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.Surviving him is his wife Betty Lou. Daughters: Suzanne Marie Fagerland and Barbara Jean (Paul) Huppert. Eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Sisters: Audrey Foley and Maritta (Ronald) John.Brothers: Marvin and Melvern.Preceding him in death were his parents and a grandson Jason Michael Huppert.Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ellsworth, WI is serving the family.
