Violet L. Magadanz, age 92, passed away August 18, 2015 at Preferred Senior Living in Ellsworth, WI. Violet was born May 12, 1923 in Salem Township to Arthur and Annie (Ebensperger) Larson, the 7th of their 9 children.
She married Warren C. Magadanz on July 14, 1942 and resided in Maiden Rock, WI until the early 50’s when she and her family moved to Ellsworth. Violet was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took pride in her family. Her collections of books and teapots, houseplants, and her embroidery work were some of the things she enjoyed.
Violet is survived by her two daughters, Janet (Barry) Barringer and Karen (Christopher) Meyer both of Ellsworth, WI; her grandchildren, Heather Barringer of River Falls, WI, Jason (Kristen) Barringer of Minneapolis, MN, Tiffany (Kevin Etherton) Meyer of River Falls, WI and Corey Meyer of Hager City, WI. Also surviving are her 6 great-grandchildren and her sister, Shirley (Dean) Olson of Owatonna, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
A funeral service is planned at Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth, WI at 1:00 pm, on Friday, August 21, 2015. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library, Adoray Home Health and Hospice or the Ellsworth Fire Services Association.
