Judy Anne Durden, 68, of Rockford, IL, formerly of River Falls, WI went to be with the Lord at 6:01 P.M., on October 11, 2015 at the home of Betty and Curlee Percey, her sister and brother-in-law. Her daughter Jodie Durden was by her side as well as her sister Betty, immediately joining them was Curlee and her companion dog, Sammy.
Judy had spent the past few weeks in the hospital with many different diagnoses. Finally on September 25, 2015 it was determined that she had stage 4 stomach cancer. At that point, her daughter flew out from San Diego, CA to figure out what the next steps would be. Sadly enough, on September 28th it was determined that she only had weeks to live. On September 30th she came home to Betty and Curlee’s house to spend her last days on earth.
Judy was born of John and Frances (Bjork) Ray on November 12, 1946. Her father, John Ray was killed in a car accident in August 1948, when Judy was only 2 years old. Her mother then married Orville (Swede) Weishaar. She shared her parents with her sister Carol and new sister, Betty.
Judy married Nicholas Pappas in June of 1964. She then divorced and later married Richard Durden. To that union, Jodie Marie Durden was born on December 30, 1976. Judy later divorced and she and Jodie lived together until Judy decided she wanted to live closer to her mom and dad in Wisconsin. Instead she ended up with her sister in Rockford, IL where she lived on her own. Her parents moved from Wisconsin to Rockford, IL to be closer to their children. Judy’s Mother Frances passed in March of 1999, from complications of a stroke. Judy went to live with her Dad, Orville (Swede) Weishaar, until Orville passed in July 2008. Judy then transitioned into owning her parent’s home and resided there until her passing, which occurred across the street at her sister and brother-in-law’s home. She last worked for J.L. Clark in Rockford, IL, as an accounting clerk where she retired from.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Ray (Father) Frances C. Weishaar, (Mother), Orville F. Weishaar, (Step-Father), Carol Jean (Ray) Simpson (Sister) Grand Parents and many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins.
Survivors include: Daughter, Jodie Marie Durden, Sister, Betty Lou Percey, Brother-in-law, Curlee L. Percey, Brother-in-law, Paul Simpson (Carol) and Special Companion Dog, Sam E. Durden.
Special Sister and Brother Cousins, Bill (Bernadine) Ray, Avis (Ray) Hays, Nancy (Ray) Lundgaard (Gary), Leslie Ray (Cindy), Edward Ray (Flora), Ella (Ray) Lundgaard (Leroy).

A mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am, Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls, WI. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls, WI. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Sunday, 10/18, at the Cashman-Hill Funeral home, River Falls, and for one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
