Mary Jane Johnson

Mary Jane Johnson, 75, of Prescott, WI, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at the Comforts of Home, River Falls, WI.

Mary Jane was born on March 2, 1940 in River Falls, the daughter of John and Sophie (Placzek) Fisher. She was a 1958 graduate of River Falls High School. Mary Jane worked at St. Paul fire and Marine before getting married to Gordon Johnson on September 3, 1960 at Saint Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. She later worked at Smead’s Mfg. and the Swedish kitchen.
Mary Jane worked for several years for the Tom Thumb convenience stores retiring after the stores closed as a manager. In her spare time she enjoyed walking, reading, sewing, bird-watching, flowers and generally being in the outdoors. Mary Jane was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Prescott.

Mary Jane is survived by her daughters Pam Glennie, and Carol Johnson, sons, Jeff (Tracy) and Brian (Rae).

Five grandchildren: Jeremy (Lynn), Alexander, Mckenna, Marie, Jade.
Three great-grandchildren: Skye, Andrew and Cooper.

Two brothers and two sisters: Norbert Fisher, Roman Fisher, Audrey (Tom) Fischer, and Pat Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, 1/23, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Prescott, WI. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from five until 7 PM on Friday at the Hill funeral Home, Prescott, and for one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Saturday.
