Gordon Earl Harris, age 74 August 29, 1941 – January 23, 2016

After a courageous fight with anaplastic thyroid cancer Gordy passed surrounded by his loving wife and immediate family. Gordy is survived by his wife Dana (ne. Beeler), sons John (Trixie) and Tom (Jody), Grandsons Tyler (Bri) and Mike, Granddaughters Angela and Caitlin, Great-Granddaughters Addisyn and Rylen, brothers Donald (Virginia) and Jim Hajek (Gladys), and numerous nieces and nephews. Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Dora, step-mother Signe, and sister Ruthie Cobb.

Gordy was a life-long resident and fixture in the community of Prescott, WI. A 3M retiree, he was a long time member of the Prescott Volunteer Fire Department, avid hunter and fisherman, snowmobiler, and ardent Packer fan. His greatest joy was time spent with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends he had through numerous interests and time at the lake. He volunteered his time and talent for many activities, and his greatest gift was the humility with which he lived his life and the many relationships he maintained over the years.

A private interment is planned on Saturday, January 30 followed by a celebration of his life from 1-4 pm at the Valley Bar & Grill W10299 US-10, Prescott, WI 54021, Prescott, WI. In lieu of gifts the family has asked that memorials be sent in his honor to support cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
