Michael R. Froemming

Michael R. Froemming, age 58, passed away on April 1, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 17th, 1957 in Alexandria, Minnesota to Wallace and Viva (Levin) Froemming.

He grew up in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and spent many holidays and family vacations with his cousins and grandparents in Alexandria. Given Mike’s mischievous and outgoing personality, his life was filled with many adventures. He always loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. Throughout his life, those he met did not remain strangers. He will always be remembered for his warm hugs, gathering new friends, keeping old friends close, and for his great sense of humor.

He spent part of his life as a chemical dependency counselor and successfully maintained his sobriety for 37 years. Mike was a carpenter by trade and ran his own business for over 10 years. He was also employed by Habitat for Humanity for a period of time.

He loved riding motorcycles, although his mom was happiest when his bike was parked in the garage. He loved to read, play cribbage, work crossword puzzles and attend his son’s sporting events. His greatest love and passion was being with his wife, sons and dogs.

Mike was loved by too many people to count and is survived by his wife Betsy; sons Isaac and Elijah; mother Viva; sisters Sandy (Gary), Kathy (Luke), and April; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at Kilkarney Hills Golf Course, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm, the service at 2:00, and a reception to follow at 3:00 serving coffee and CHOCOLATE!

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gift donations to go toward funding a scholarship in Mike’s name.

Arrangements are with Cashman-Hill Funeral Home and Cremation Services, River Falls, Wisconsin.
