Virginia “Ginny” Mae Tromberg

Virginia (Ginny) Tromberg, age 80 of River Falls, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday evening, January 4, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Virginia was born November 6, 1936, in Frederic, WI to Clarence and Erna Spencer. She graduated from Frederic High School. Following high school she moved to Minneapolis, MN where she worked at Marquette National Bank as a loan processor. Then married Ernie Tromberg on October 13, 1956. Virginia and Ernie had a devoted and very loving marriage. Virginia was a stay at home mom until her youngest daughter was in high school. She then went to work at the Steamboat Inn in Prescott, WI as a hostess and assistant manager for 18 years.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Ernie Tromberg of River Falls; her children James Tromberg, Jay Tromberg, Jolene (Steve) Trautmann and Janet (Wayne) Gutting; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Tromberg, Jayson (Michelle) Tromberg, Joey (Holly) Trautmann , Jenelle Trautmann, and Amber Rose Gutting; 6 great-grandchildren Brianna Tromberg, Kaylin Tromberg, Taylor Tromberg, Hayden Tromberg, Makiah Trautmann, Brekken Trautmann and new girl Trautmann (1/28/2017).

Virginia is preceded in death by her mom and dad Clarence and Erna Spencer and her brother Charles Spencer of Frederic WI.

Virginia loved life. She loves her gardens and crafts. There was no craft she could not do. Her home was always decorated for every holiday. She enjoyed watching her own children showing horses. She enjoyed hockey, gymnastics, softball and dance recitals with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virginia was a big North Star Hockey fan as well.

In honor of Virginia, there will be a Celebration of Life, time and date to be determined.
