Richardson Orr Farmer, age 92, of River Falls, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls. Dick was born November 17, 1924 in Minnesota to Albert and Jennie (Richardson) Farmer. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-1952. On January 3, 1953 he was united in marriage to Helen Ann Filas. The couple had three children.

Dick was employed with Anderson Bros.-Minneapolis Moline, Mpls. MN before moving to River Falls. He worked with Equity Co-op in River Falls in the late 1950’s and was employed with Avco New Idea Farm Machinery as a Territorial Manager and Salesman in the mid-60’s. After retiring in 1983, he sold Hydrotex Lubricant products to both large and small businesses.

Dick enjoyed many past times and hobbies over his long lifetime. He and Helen enjoyed their children and grandchildren immensely! Family vacations, travel, reading, researching family genealogy, hunting, fishing, Bible Prophecy and collecting antiques were some of his interests. He enjoyed visiting family and with his many nieces and nephews. Dick was very active in his church.

Dick shared his vast knowledge of mechanics with his sons and grandson. There was always a project in the making.

Dick will be remembered for his kind ways and vast knowledge of many subjects. He was a great story teller and very detailed oriented. He remained very active and independent up to the age of 90 before requiring some assistance in his care.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Jennie; his wife, Helen, of 38 years; his son, Richard Albert Farmer; his grandson, Joseph Richardson Jensen; his son-in-law, Dan Jensen; his sister and brother-in-law, Alice (Donald) Wilcox.

Richardson is survived by his son, Jim Farmer; daughter, Nancy A. Jensen (Dale Antiel); granddaughter, Michelle Jensen; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 12:00 pm (noon), Tuesday, February 28th at Servant of the Shepherd Lutheran Church, 103 N 4th St., River Falls, WI. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service also at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls, WI.
