Lorin “Beaner” Frey

Lorin “Beaner” Frey, age 81, of River Falls, WI passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls. Beaner was born on January 31, 1936 to Theodore and Gladys (Kelly) Frey. Born and raised in River Falls he enlisted in the Army his senior year of high school receiving his GED while in the service. On April 7, 1957 he was united in marriage to Judy Shella also of River Falls. They had three children.

Beaner was employed by 3M for 35 years before retiring. Between the Army and National Guard he served a total of 29 years. Beaner was active in the community serving as a City Council member for many years, was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Moose Lodge, member of Park & Rec. Board where he was instrumental in getting the campgrounds in Hoffman Park and belonged to the Kinnic Kampers. He had a passion for camping and traveling.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Gladys Frey; sister-in-law, Bernadine Frey; father-and mother-in-law, Lloyd and Grace Shella; brother-in-law, Warren Shella.

Beaner will live on in the hearts of his wife of 59 years, Judy; his children, Cindy (Dale) Dusk, Tim (Kerrin) Frey, Todd (Carla) Frey; grandchildren, Derrick, Kelly, Trent, Tara, Hunter, Josh; brother, Jerry Frey; brother-in-law, Kevin (Judy) Shella and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Beaner’s life will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, March 26th at the River Falls American Legion with visitation from 1:00-3:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family of Lorin Frey.
