After sharing 73 years of wonderful marriage together, and their lives fully lived as residents of River Falls, the family of Vernon and Lucille Kelly, will now lay their parents to rest. Both at age 91, Vernon J. Kelly, died May 8, 2017, and Lucille now joins him after recently passing away February 10, 2018. Vernon was born December 2, 1925 in River Falls, WI; the son of John and Iva (Stouffer) Kelly. Lucille was born April 8, 1926 in River Falls, WI; the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Dravis) Hamman. On March 14, 1944, the two high school sweethearts were united in marriage at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Together they raised seven children on the family farm east of River Falls.
Vernon and Lucille are survived by their children, Donna (Don) Harens, of St. Paul, MN; Allan (Sarah) of River Falls, WI; Bill (Julie) of River Fall, WI; Terry (Renee) of Woodville, WI; Cindy (Wayne) Wakerhauser of Portage, WI; Mark (Mary) of River Falls, WI; and Linda (Buddy) Schumacher of Baldwin, WI; and three generations of grandchildren. Lucille is dearly loved and survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Frederick and Marlys Bradford. Vernon and Lucille will also remain in the hearts of many dear friends and other relatives.
Vernon and Lucille are preceded in death by their parents; Lucille’s sister; Vernon’s three sisters; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; as well as nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Mass of Christian Burial for Vernon and Lucille will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 E. Division St., River Falls, WI, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the Mass. A time of fellowship will immediately follow. If you are unable to attend the visitation and Mass, the family still welcomes you to join them for the dinner reception and continued time of fellowship immediately following the Mass at church. Private interment will take place at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, River Falls, WI.
