Lawrence “Larry” Albert Fischer

Lawrence “Larry” Albert Fischer, age 79, of Prescott, WI died unexpectedly on Monday, June 5, 2017 at his cabin in Grantsburg, WI. He was born on June 22, 1937 in El Paso Township to Herman and Ruby (Genz) Fischer. On September 24, 1960 he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Nelson in Ellsworth, WI.

Larry (aka “Fletch”) worked for the City of Prescott in the Public Works Department for 24 years. He was an active member of the Lodge 105 in Prescott and the St. Croix Valley Shriners. Larry also drove school bus for the Prescott School District. He was a member of the Army Reserves stationed out of Ellsworth. Fletch loved spending time at his Grantsburg cabin, especially during deer hunting season with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ruby; daughter, Dawn Viegut; one brother and three sisters.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol; children, Kim (Mike) Pischke of Soddy Daisy, TN, Joan (Bill) Koller of Prescott, WI, Todd (Sue) Fischer of Osseo, WI; grandchildren, Mandi Nelson, Zach and Hilary Pischke, Jeremy (Caitlin) and Mason Koller, Trevor, Tommy and Lucas Fischer, Colin Schickling; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Paige, Hailey, Hannah; sister, Florence Wroblewski; sister-in-law, Ethel Fischer, and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A Masonic service for Larry will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 8th at Prescott United Church of Christ in Prescott, WI followed by the funeral service. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Private interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott.
