Margel Faye Keys, age 84 of Prescott WI, died on Saturday evening, December 23, 2017 at the Prescott Nursing Home. Margel was born January 5, 1933 in rural Durand WI to parents George and Hazel (Hurlbert) Price. Margel graduated from Durand High School, and furthered her education through the pursuit of nursing, becoming an LPN. Margel was united in marriage to Leland D. Keys on January 13, 1950. Together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2003.

Whether caring for others as a nurse, or spending time with special friends, Margel loved people. She and Leland were blessed with four children, and two generations of grandchildren. Throughout the years, she enjoyed dancing, camping, and shopping, but above all, Margel especially loved and adored time spent with her family.

Margel is survived by her children, Robyn (Joe) Ptacek, Audrey (Steve) Schuh, Lynn Thomas, and Mark (Muriel) Keys; grandchildren, Brandy (Shorty) Eastman, Troy Schuh, Trisha (Jason) Winkler, Mark Keys Jr., Bunny (Chris) Reuter; great-grandchildren, Trinity (Scotty) Benner, Chastity Eastman, Mason and Jaxson Baker, Stevie Schuh, Tyler and Lauren Winkler, and Prestyn, Reese and Bailey Reuter; sister, Phyllis (Syl) Phillips; brother-in-law, Ted (Judy) Keys; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Margel was preceded in death by her husband, Leland; her granddaughter, Brooke Ptacek Baker; her parents; and siblings, Leone, Bob, Harry, and Donna.

Margel’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for her at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Old Ptacek’s Event Center, 1449 Orrin Road in Prescott, WI.
