Ferol Nadeau

Ferol Rosina Nadeau, age 93 of Red Wing MN, died on Thursday evening, February 1, 2018 at the St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing. Ferol was born May 19, 1924 in Cannon Falls MN to parents George and Lois (King) McKinley. Ferol was united in marriage to Neal A. Nadeau on April 7, 1945 at the parsonage of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Red Wing. Neal would precede her in death in 2001.

Ferol worked for many years as a waitress. She was a tiny, yet feisty, gal who was proud of her Scottish and Irish heritage. Like many of her generation, Ferol especially loved to go dancing. She enjoyed having a Rueben sandwich, and on other occasions, a cold beer and a burger. Ferol was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, painting, and taking pictures and photos of those in her family. Ferol was also a gifted quilter who made many quilts through the years.

Ferol is survived by her sister, Helen Holst; three generations of nieces and nephews; and her close friend and caregiver, Nancy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; and siblings, Daisy James, Erma Mohr, Ronald McKinley, Jack McKinley, Rosa Glasby, Vera Burr, George McKinley, Mrytle “Honey” Nelson, and Charles McKinley.

Memorial Services for Ferol Nadeau will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant St. in Ellsworth WI, with Pastor Rod Wicklund officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home and Trusted Cremation Provider of Ellsworth WI. 715-273-4421
