Charles A. Cadwell Jr., age 69 of River Falls WI, died on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his residence. Chuck was born September 5, 1948 in Pittsfield IL, to parents Charles A. and Catherine E. (Dickerson) Cadwell. Chuck attended school in Lombard IL, and graduated from the Glenbard East High School with the Class of 1966. Chuck furthered his education at Kansas University, and after graduating, was commissioned an officer in the United States Navy. Chuck enrolled in Naval Post Grad School in Monterey CA, and earned a Masters of Mechanical Engineering degree there. His career in the Navy spanned over 24 years before retiring in 1992 at the rank of Commander.

Chuck was united in marriage on January 27, 1973 to Janet L. Zentz. Their union in marriage was blessed with three sons, and over 45 years of love and devotion. Together, they traveled the world to the different assignments around the globe.

Chuck was a devoted KU fan, as well as the Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Twins. Chuck was proud of his country and his military career, and he proudly flew the Stars and Stripes. While serving in Australia, he was even recognized as an honorary member of the Royal Australian Navy. He loved camping, a good cup of coffee, and people. He always had the right tool to help you with anything you needed. Chuck opened a landscaping business in later years, and considered his employees of his as family. Chuck was a dog lover, and adored his family. He was proud of his sons, and all of his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet; his sons, Toby (Ann) Cadwell, and their children Owen, Sara, and Elijah, Rodney (Ana) Cadwell, and their children Effie and Lucia, and Scott (Janet) Cadwell,and their daughter Ava; his siblings, Karen (Tom) Ruch, Bill (Deana) Cadwell, and Rodney (Beverly) Cadwell; sisters-in-law, Judy (Doug) Tufte, Phyllis (Duane) Tufte, and Donna Rickford; his dog, Kai; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles; and his dogs, Bella, Kelly, and Pepper.

Funeral Services for Charles A. “Chuck” Cadwell Jr. will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th Street in Hudson WI. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to services, and from 3:00-6:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
