Larry “Pops” Joe Templeton, age 66, of Prescott, WI passed away on April 3, 2019 at Regina Medical Center in Hastings, MN. Born on February 10, 1953 in Memphis, TN to Wilson and Velma Templeton née Neely, he graduated from high school in 1971 at which time he joined the U.S. Navy, which he served until 1978.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed camping, bonfires, fishing, and cooking. Ever the jokester, friends and family will remember him for his sense of humor and levity. He enjoyed listening to music, playing the guitar, and supporting the Minnesota Vikings.
Both his parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his significant other, Pauline Johanik, and his children: Zachary Templeton and his husband Israel Vance of Atlanta, GA, Matt Templeton and his wife Dorci of Farmington, MN, and Sara Templeton of Estill Springs, TN. He leaves behind his brother and sister, Garry Templeton and wife Chrystal of Bell Buckle, TN and Ann Frady and her husband Steve of Lawrenceville, GA. In addition, Larry leaves behind four beautiful grandchildren, Jaylyn, Willow, Leena, and Jack; countless nieces, nephews, and friends; as well as special animal companions Zena, Jake, and Flahny.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home located at 1339 Orrin Road, Prescott, WI.
