Gerald Ralph Cain, age 70 of Prescott WI, died on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. Jerry was born June 8, 1948 in Plum City WI to Ralph and Laura (Brantner) Cain. Jerry attended school in Spring Valley, and graduated from Spring Valley High School with the Class of 1966. After high school, Jerry enlisted with the United States Navy and served overseas during Vietnam. On August 2, 1971, Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Lou Lansing at the Gilman Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. This union in marriage would be blessed with three children, Michael, Suzanne, and Ashley.
Jerry was a hard worker who spent many years with Jacques Seed Co. as a field manager, a plant manager, and also in international sales. In later years, Jerry had his own business, Lien Guaranty. Outside of work, Jerry loved time spent with family and friends, especially his grandkids. Jerry enjoyed yard work, flowers and gardening, golfing, hunting and fishing, and playing cards and cribbage. Jerry had a talent for fixing things, and loved to help others with any construction projects. Jerry loved jokes and singing. His sense of humor was always evolving, right unto his final days, and he could make every situation into a song. His love and laughter will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his children, Michael (Samantha) Cain, Suzanne (Greg) Fifield, and Ashley (John) Rugel; his grandchildren, Delaney (Austin), Madison, Bailey, Chailyn, Wyatt, Sylus, and Brayden; his siblings, Margaret (Larry) Rootes, Bernadette Kwasny, Ron Cain, Jan (Chuck) Walz, and Linda Markus; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents; and siblings, Loretta, Jim, Chuck, and Ken.
To honor Jerry’s wishes, a private family burial with military honors will be held. His final resting place will be with his wife Linda at the Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott. Services were entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home of Prescott, WI. 715-262-5404
