Gerald R. Radkey

Gerald Raymond Radkey, age 88 of Beldenville, passed away August 13, 2019 at the Rochester Mayo Clinic Hospital. Gerald was born July 12, 1931 in Beldenville, WI to Raymond and Neoma (Gilbertson) Radkey. He graduated from Ellsworth High School, the Class of 1949. Gerald was united in marriage to Beverly Ruth Marklevitts on November 10, 1951. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Anthony and Timothy. Gerald worked on his family dairy farm, with his brothers, for many years. He also worked for Hines Auction Service for nearly 30 years. Gerald was one of the four founders of the Beldenville Old Car Club. Gerald and his wife were also cofounders of the Pierce County Snowmobile Club. He also prided himself as being the “Mayor” of Beldenville, and enjoyed organizing the parade each year. For years, he enjoyed spending time at his second home at Port Wing, WI and Lake Superior. He delighted in his time visiting with others, often a clever jokester, and spending time with his family.

Gerald is survived by his son, Tim (Jill) Radkey of Beldenville; brothers, Thomas (Beverly) and Dennis (Linda); sisters, Janice (Gordon) Saueressig, Lynn (Lorran) Celley, and Julie (Dean) Hughes; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; son, Anthony; and his parents.

A Memorial Service will take place 6:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, N6450 530th St., Beldenville, with Pastor Lucas Ladnier officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date at the Beldenville Cemetery.
