Carl Joseph Pechacek Jr.

Carl Joseph Pechacek Jr., age 92 of Ellsworth, WI, passed away surrounded by his family at his residence on September 1, 2019. Carl was born October 24, 1926 in Beldenville, WI to Carl Joseph and Lenora (Teusaw) Pechacek. Carl attended a one room country school house, grew up on a small family farm in Trimbelle Township, and learned hard work ethic at a young age. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Marines as a WWII Veteran. His life was blessed with four children, Carol, Carl, Cathy and Carrie. Carl worked as a Building Supervisor for Jacques Seed Company for 49 years. He enjoyed the many reunions and lasting friendships from his time with the Jacques family and company.

Carl bettered his life with the choice of sobriety, and was proud of his 38 years, so much that he had a camel sign in his front yard celebrating his dedication. In his later years, he obtained his private pilot license, which was a great accomplishment. He was a social butterfly who loved going out for breakfast, playing pool at the Senior Center, and golfing. Carl was a very kind man and would help anyone who needed a hand. He truly knew no stranger, was a clever jokester, and was liked by everyone. Carl delighted in taking drives to watch the corn grow throughout the county. He enjoyed traveling, and made many special memories doing so with his children.

Carl will remain in the hearts of his children, Carol Jennings Steves of FL, Carl “Joe” (Kathy) Pechacek of Ellsworth, Cathy (Gregg) Poquette of Eagan, MN, and Carrie (Terry) Hove of Ellsworth; 11 grandchildren: LeRoy Jennings Jr., Lisa Anderson, Melissa Jennings, Dawn Benoy, Krystal Lechler, Tami Horner, Ashley Harris, Andrew Poquette, Alyssa Poquette, Jill Leonard, and Justin Leonard; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and sister, Evelyn Bonte. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Joseph and Lenora Pechacek; brothers, Gerald and Donald Pechacek; and sister, Dorothy Ottman.

A Celebration of Carl’s Life will take place 1:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Ellsworth American Legion – Kinne-Engelhart Post 204.
