Phyllis Irene Blaksley, age 98, of Ellsworth, WI formerly of Woodbury, MN passed away on February 6, 2020 at Preferred Senior Living in Ellsworth, WI. She was born on July 2, 1921 in Cumberland, WI to Albert and Harriet (Cushman) Dusel. On January 31, 1948 Phyllis was united in marriage to William Arthur Blaksley. She worked several jobs as an office clerk during her lifetime but she was always a homemaker and helped William on the farm.
Phyllis, William and their daughters had a passion for horses and attended many horse shows and rodeos over the years. William and Phyllis would pack up their camper and go on the road to cheer on their grandchildren when they started to compete with horses.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Harriet Dusel; her husband, William; daughter, Claudia Blaksley; sister, Elaine Diers.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Susan (Steven) Pojanowski; her grandchildren, Andrew (Amber) Pojanowski, Matthew (Heidi) Pojanowski, Jodie Pojanowski; great-grandchildren, Justy Wagner, Clyde and Roger Pojanowski; two nieces.
A memorial service for Phyllis Blaksley will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 15, 2020 at O’Connell-Benedict Family Funeral Home, 130 North Grant Street, Ellsworth, WI with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior.
