Donna Mae Killian

Donna Mae Killian, age 81 of Prescott, WI, passed away March 4, 2020 peacefully at her home. Donna was born August 10, 1938 in Dows, Iowa, the daughter of LaVere and Burneil (Grupe) Kahler. She graduated from River Falls High School, with the Class of 1956. Donna’s life was blessed with three children, Tom “Tooter”, Dawn, and Terry Groves. In 1968, Donna was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) Struve. They shared 17 years together, until his passing in 1985. In 1992, Donna was married to Norman Killian, sharing 27 wonderful years together. Donna worked hard all of her life, in manufacturing and waitressing. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, step-mother, and grandmother to her family.

Donna was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish. She enjoyed the outdoors, weekends at the cabin in Danbury with her family snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. Donna delighted in playing cards, especially a good hand of euchre, gin, solitaire, cribbage and black jack. Donna and Norm were fortunate to share many travels together throughout the United States. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends.

Donna will remain in the hearts of her beloved husband, Norm; children, Tom “Tooter” Groves, Dawn (Michael) Lynch, and Terry (Katy) Groves; eight Struve and Killian step-children; grandchildren, Michelle Lynch, Kevin Groves, and Kyle Groves; great-grandchildren, Faith, Addison, Hannah, and Evan; many Struve and Killian grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Gamnis and Phyllis (Bruce) Souligny; brother, Charles (Judy) Kahler; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Donna was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert “Bob” Struve; and two step-sons.  

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Monday, March 9, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 269 Dakota St. S, Prescott, with Fr. George Szews officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 9:00 am until the start of Mass. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prescott. Urn bearers assisting with the service will be Donna’s grandchildren, Michelle Lynch, Kevin Groves, and Kyle Groves.
