Lorin Eugene Bloomstrand, age 81 of Bay City, WI, passed away December 15, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, MN. Lorin was born August 27, 1939 in Red Wing, MN to David and Grace (Carlson) Bloomstrand. He graduated from Ellsworth High School, with the Class of 1957. On May 27, 1960, Lorin was united in marriage to DeLoris Maureen Johnson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ellsworth. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Darren, twin daughters Faith and Fay, and Tana. Lorin worked at the Fullerton Lumber Company in Ellsworth for 11 years, and then as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk for Nestle Purina in Hager City for 35 years.
Outside of his work, Lorin enjoyed the peacefulness of camping and being on the water fishing. He was a proud Green Bay Packer Fan, who delighted in cheering on his team. Lorin was especially fond of playing a good hand of cards with his family. Devoted to his faith and his family, Lorin was an active member of the Eidsvold Lutheran Church, volunteering his time and holding several positions within the Church Council.
Lorin will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 60 years, DeLoris; his children, Darren (Maschall) Bloomstrand, Faith (Daren) Edwards, Fay Albarado and Tana (Lee) Langer; 10 beloved grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Audrey Gilbertson; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Grace Bloomstrand; brother, Wendell (Polly) Bloomstrand; grandson, Tom Skordahl; and brother-in-law, Donald Gilbertson.
A Gathering of Family and Friends (masks and social distancing required) will take place 10:00 – 11:00 AM Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Eidsvold Lutheran Church, W6111 Cty. Rd. EE, Bay City, WI. A private family service will be held at 11:00 AM at Eidsvold Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Knudson officiating. The service will be broadcasted with the FM Station 93.1 for those wanting to listen to the service from the church parking lot and up to 3/4 mile from the church. Interment will take place at the Eidsvold Lutheran Cemetery in Esdaile.
