Marcella Emma Fiedler, age 104, previously of Prescott, WI, joined her heavenly father on December 21, 2020, in Grantsburg, WI. She was born March 15, 1916, in Oak Grove, WI, the daughter of John and Frieda (Belter) Meier. On June 18, 1936, she was united in marriage to Melvin Fiedler to which this union two sons were born, Gerald and Roger.

Marcella was a life-long member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Prescott, WI. It was there she was baptized, confirmed, married and faithfully attended. Upon retirement in 1975, Marcella and her husband Melvin lived on a small parcel of the Fiedler family farm. After Melvin passed in 1984, Marcella continued to reside on the Fiedler farm.

Marcella was born and raised on a farm; she was no stranger to hard work and helping others. She worked alongside Melvin tending to the farm while raising two sons into fine men. Marcella will be fondly remembered for her willingness to help everyone, and her ability to remember just about anything. Marcella’s caring nature and timeless charisma will be memorialized by all.

Marcella is preceded in death by husband Melvin; parents John and Frieda Meier, and brothers; Calvin, Clifford, Claude; sisters; Madeline, Marjorie; son Roger; grandson Terry Fiedler; granddaughter Stacey (Larry) Erlandson.  She is survived by her son Gerald “Jerry” (Norma) Fiedler of Grantsburg, WI; grandsons:  Tim (Laura) Fiedler of Eden Prairie, MN, Kevin (Cheryl) Fiedler of Hudson, WI, Kraig (Julie) Fiedler of Grantsburg, WI, Todd (Patricia) Fiedler of Rochester, MN; and her many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Marcella will be held from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home, 1339 Orrin Road in Prescott, WI. Interment will follow in Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. John’s United Church of Christ, Prescott, WI.
