Carolyn Beverly Cook

Carolyn Beverly Cook, affectionately known to many as “Cookie”, age 93 of Ellsworth, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2022 surrounded by family at her residence. Carolyn was the daughter of William and Elizabeth Kane; she was born on February 7, 1929 in St. Paul, MN. She attended Hastings High School. Carolyn met the love of her life Leroy Cook and the two were married on June 18, 1949 at the Catholic Church in Hastings, MN. This union blessed them with children Roy, Sharon, Bruce, and Dennis.

Carolyn was a very content humble woman. She did not need much to be happy. Materialistic things in life did not bring her joy, rather being surrounded by those she loved.   Cooking was one of her passions that she enjoyed to share with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many were greeted by her smile when she worked at Sonny’s Restaurant in Ellsworth. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren when she could. Her great granddaughter Laylah was able to spend the last 10 years caring for Cookie along with her grandson Michael. Cookie will be greatly missed.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Roy (Wendy) Cook, Sharon (Ron) Stewart and Dennis (Debbie) Cook; grandchildren: William, Joseph, Wayne, Todd, Eric, Brandon, Serena, Brooke, Michael, Johnathon, and Mackenzie; along with fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; along with an uncountable number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son Bruce Cook.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church: 231 W. Woodworth St. Ellsworth, WI 54011, with Father David Olson officiating.
