Madonna Martha Mueske

Donna Mueske died peacefully on January 18th surrounded by the family she loved so much. She was the firstborn child of Herbert and Agnes (Goergen) Mayer, born at their farmhouse on January 23, 1931 outside of Stacyville, IA. While attending Hamilton Business College in Mason City, IA she met the love of her life, Clifton John (C.J.) Mueske on a blind date. They married on August 20th, 1952. They made their home in Manly, IA until moving to Prescott, WI in 1963. CJ and Donna enjoyed raising their four children on Lake Street, overlooking the St. Croix River.
In addition to being a wise and wonderful wife and mother, Madonna Martha Mary Magdalene was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. In her later years she especially enjoyed being a member of the Stitcher’s group there. She got to know many in the community while working at the Post Office in Prescott. Donna’s many interests included bowling, ceramics, bridge, boating, rock hunting, reading, crossword puzzles, U.S. & International travel, taking walks, and gardening. She was also active in League of Women Voters and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shirley Hackenmiller, and her son-in-law, Troy Jackson. She is survived by her loving husband, C.J., their four children, Mari (Jackson), Mark (Carol Ahlgren), Rita & Rick (Paula), grandchildren, Angie, Chris, Maria, Isaac & Amanda, & great-grandchildren, Aerowyn, Elijah & Forrest. Donna’s surviving brother, John Herbert, and sister, Janice Hackenmiller, live in Iowa.

Donna’s funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Prescott, Wisconsin, on Saturday, May 7th, at 11:00 A.M. Viewing of memorial before and after service (10:00-11:00 and 12:00-1:00) in the St. Joseph’s School gymnasium. Lunch following service in the school gymnasium.
