Milton Edward Halls

Milton Edward Halls (Milt), age 85, of Ellsworth, Wis., died Friday February 5, at Our House Senior Living in River Falls, Wis.
Milt was born on May 6, 1930, in Ellsworth, the son of Victor and Helen (Winter) Halls. He attended school in Ellsworth through 8th grade. He was confirmed at the English Lutheran church. He entered the Army Air Corps at the age of 17. He served in the Air Force from June 3, 1947 to June 4, 1950, in the occupational army stationed in Japan and Okinawa. He then spent 6 months working as a cook for a construction company in Greenland. Milt married Donna Eaton on Nov 10, 1955, and put down roots in Ellsworth. He had one child, Thomas (Tom). Milt was a Freemason. He worked as a printer and had his own print shop (Boothby Print Shop) in Menomonie. After retirement, he worked part time for Schulte’s (became Hincks) grocery store in Ellsworth.
Milt enjoyed hunting, fishing, his huge garden, cooking, collecting elephants, reading, working with tools, and woodworking to make craft items with his wife. He always had something related to printing such as pads of paper, old typewriters, and labelers at his home. He was the “master chef” while making lefse with Tom, Eileen, and Donna. He greatly enjoyed playing with his grand-dog Geordi. He liked to tease and have fun with others, always a kid at heart. He enjoyed spending time with his two closest friends Al & Larry and his immediate & extended family. In the last two months, time spent with Pastor Tim was of immense value to him.
Milt is survived by his son Tom (Eileen) Halls, Ellsworth, several in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Milt was preceded in death by his wife Donna, siblings Anita, Victor Jr. (Bing), Charles, Irv, & Dianne, parents Victor & Helen, and nephew Jon Waller.

A memorial service for Milt will be at 11:00am, Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, WI. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth, WI.
Visitation will be on Thursday, from 4-7pm at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth, and for one hour prior to the service on Friday.
