William K. Bjorkman

William “Bill” Kenneth Bjorkman, age 81, of Ellsworth passed away after a very short battle with cancer. Bill was able to spend his last few days at home with family by his side, which was cherished by all. Bill always had a successful garden and took enjoyment in being able to share with others. Everyone continues to enjoy his wonderful raspberries. The rose garden was his pride and joy where he spent many hours fertilizing, pruning and tweaking to make sure there were always beautiful bouquets of roses for everyone to take home and enjoy. Bill was an avid fisherman and enjoyed not only catching the biggest trout of everyone, but also teaching others his tricks of the trade. Bill always enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Playing cards was one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed games with family, but also really enjoyed his trips to the casino and playing in his many card groups.

Bill was born on November 12, 1938 in Connorsville, WI. He attended Boyceville High School where he graduated in 1956. He then joined the United States Army where he served until 1959. Bill married his high school sweetheart Arlene Peshaw from Boyceville and they moved to Ellsworth in September of 1960. Bill worked as a lineman at Pierce Pepin Electric Coop for 40 years where he not only loved his work, but developed many cherished friendships.

Bill is survived by his three children, Bruce, Brian (Jill), and Brenda (Dan) Schroeder; grandchildren, Melany and Bryce Bjorkman, DeCree (Nolan) Sweeney, Kylie (Travis) Swanson, Payton Bjorkman, Bill (Morgan) Miller, Louie (fiancée Abby) Miller, Sam Miller, and Josh Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ivy; sisters, Helen Rosen and Janet Thompson; brother-in-law, Ron (Lee) Peshaw, sister-in-law, Joann Bjorkman; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; granddaughter, Brittany; infant grandson, Jonathon; his parents, Roy and Louise; his brother, Sidney; and sister, Shirley (Bob) Schlottman.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Rush River Trail Riders snowmobile clubhouse at N4775 450th Street, Ellsworth WI on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow until 6:00 pm.
