Deborah Olson

Deborah Joan (Hutton) Olson died August 15, 2010. She was born on November 12, 1950, in St Paul, MN, the daughter of Howard and Elizabeth (Strobel) Hutton.

As a child, she attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School and graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1968. After high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin, River Falls, graduating in 1975.

On August 10, 1973, she was married to Melvin Keith Olson at St Patrick’s Church in Hudson, They lived in Milwaukee, WI for a brief time before moving to Hudson and opening Riverview Dental Clinic.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and business partner with her husband. She enjoyed a wide variety of interests, including: baking, quilting, needlework, traveling and spending time at their winter home in Florida. Deb was a cancer survivor and an active participant in The Relay For Life program, raising donations for cancer research with her team of close friends known as Deb’s Divas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elizabeth.

She is survived by her husband, Dr Melvin Olson and son, Erik; brother, Michael (Terilynn) Hutton of Hudson; two sisters, Patricia Hutton of River Falls and Susan Hutton of West Bend; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Milton and Becky Olson of Mendota, IL; nephews, Matthew (Ember) Hutton, Matthew and Mitch Olson and nieces: Emily (Chris) Lownsbury, Laura Foster, Dana Foster, Kathy Inman and Kristi George; numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Deb’s life will be 11AM Thursday, August 26th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St. in Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 715-386-3725.
