Jayme Alan Spence, age 54 of Hudson WI and formerly of Anoka MN, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester MN. Jayme was born on May 16, 1956 in Princeton MN to parents James D. and Betty G. (Block) Spence. Jayme attended Anoka High School, and served his country in the United States Army. On February 14, 1986 in Anoka MN, Jayme would be united in marriage to his wife, Paula.
After serving in the Army, Jayme worked as a welder and mechanic, but later found his calling as a carpenter. Jayme was currently employed with Adolfson & Peterson General Contractors. Outside of work, Jayme enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting for deer, elk, and pheasants, as well as rebuilding his vintage car and truck, and being a member of both the Hudson Gun Club, and the River Falls Gun Club. Family vacation time, and trips to their lake place are treasured memories he’ll leave with his loved ones. Jayme was a volunteer firefighter for eight years on the Ramsey Fire Department. More recently, Jayme was an active member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and contributed his skills by helping others, and also serving on Habitat for Humanity Missions locally, and throughout the United States.
Jayme is survived by his wife of 24 years, Paula; children, Lea (nee Favre)(Galen) Wetzell, Cory (Shaina) Spence, and Krista Spence; father, Jim Spence; sisters, DeeAnna Fuller, Renee (Dave) Seltz, and Audra (Greg) Taylor; his hunting dog and loyal companion, Grace; as well as his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and good friends. Jayme was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Spence.
A Memorial Service for Jayme Spence will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Mt Zion Lutheran Church, 505 South 13th Street, Hudson WI, with Pastor Brian Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, beginning at 10:00 AM. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
