Francis “Tommy” Ebben

Francis John “Tommy” Ebben age 90 of River Falls died peacefully Friday December 17, 2010 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. Francis was born on February 6, 1920 in Stanley, Wisconsin. He was raised in Stanley; attended school and graduated from high school. He enlisted in the armed forces and served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1947. On July 4, 1942, he was united in marriage to Lula Chapman in Milwaukee. They would be blessed with eight children. He would return to Stanley where he farmed for a period of time. The Ebbens moved to Hudson and Francis worked for the Post Office as a railway mail clerk. Following this, he worked for Jones Chemical in Hudson and delivered Star Tribune papers for eight years. Francis was a sports fan who loved playing cards. But mostly, he will be remembered for his devotion to his work ethics.

Francis is survived by his children Sharai (Robert) Pollock and her children ‘Marina & Tracey’, Roderick (Sandra) Ebben, Duane (Lisa) Ebben and children ‘Jeb & Josh’, James (Charlene) Ebben and son ‘Jason’, David (Kelly) Ebben and children ‘Kendra (Paul) Krasin, Matthew (Malia) and their son Noah, Nicholas, & Alonzo’, Dale Ebben, Roger Ebben, Timothy Ebben; nine grandchildren, one great grandchildren; sister Jean Janssen, and sister-in-law Margaret Ebben. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lula, brothers Richard and Robert, and sister Irene Mildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Wednesday December 22nd at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. Dan Dahlberg officiating. Music will be provided by the Hope Choir. Full military honors will be provided by the Hudson VFW and American Legion Posts. Burial will be in the Chapman Cemetery in Niagara, Wisconsin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Homes and Countryside Crematory.
