Molly Bourn Olson

Molly Bourn Olson, age 86, of Woodville, died on March 29, 2011 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

Molly was born on July 31, 1924 to George and Elizabeth (Weitzel) Agner in Mason City, Iowa and grew up in Farmington, MN. It was there that she met John Bourn. She and John were married on November 3, 1941. This marriage would be blessed with 9 children. In 1962, the Bourn family moved to Woodville where Molly helped John manage Bourn Helicopter Service until John’s death in 1968 in a helicopter crash at Rice Lake. She worked at 3M and then at McMillan Electric in Woodville as a production worker. She would continue to work for McMillan Electric until her retirement in 1986. On December 28, 1971 Molly was married to Marcel Olson until his passing on March 29, 2003. Molly would continue to live out her days in Woodville, close to her family and friends.

Molly lived a very active lifestyle. She enjoyed sports and was a proud supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. She was a fan of WWE pro wrestling and was also an avid bowler. Molly bowled into her 80’s and earned the distinguished “Queen B” award from the Wisconsin Bowling Association. Molly was a very dedicated gardener. She was known for her perennial gardens and often had folks pass by her home in Woodville to view her work. She was a lover of animals – especially her dog, Nugget and enjoyed her weekly shopping trips with her friends and family. She liked relaxing with games including Farkle and Skip-Bo and took the occasional trip to the casino as well. What made all of these activities extra special was being able to share them with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved very much.

Molly is survived by her; children, Richard Bourn of Woodville WI, Leann (Ventura) Rodriguez of Wilson WI, Tom (Judy) Bourn of Woodville WI, Nanette (Mike) Nielsen of Wilson WI, Jim (Robin) Bourn of Menomonie WI, Aleta (Mark) Martell of Dayton, TX, Debbie (Mark) Lee of Centerville, SD, Marilyn (Jeff) Riehm of Greenfield, MO, and Charlene (Darrell) Wold of Hudson, WI. She is further survived by 27 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and many other relatives and dear friends.

Molly is preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth (Weitzel) Agner, sisters, Vera and Elizabeth and brother, John.

Services for Molly Olson will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Wisconsin at 1pm. Burial will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery. Visitation will take place for 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday as well as on Friday, April 1 from 4-7 pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin.
