Jeanne Bailey

Jeanne Louise Bailey, age 89 of Hudson, died Saturday August 13, 2011 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. She was born on August 4, 1922 in Rush River Township,  the daughter of Ole and Louise (Larson) Olson. She received her schooling in Cannon Falls, MN and Spring Valley, WI. On January 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Don Bailey in San Diego. This union would be further blessed with children Linda, Wade, and Paul. Although she was a devoted homemaker during her life, she also enjoyed her time working in the personnel department for Northwest Airlines and as an office assistant for local doctors. Jeanne was a deeply spiritual and religious person. She was a devoted member of Bethel Lutheran Church who volunteered forty years plus helping with prayer chains, mailings, and the Ladies’ Guild. While Don was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge, Jeanne enjoyed her time with the Order of Eastern Star. Many people were on the receiving end of greeting cards for birthdays or simply thinking-of-you cards. Indeed, Jeanne valued her life by seeing how she could help others.

Jeanne will remain in the hearts of her children Linda (Fleming) Keefe, Paul Bailey, Wade (Faye) Bailey, grandchildren Alexander (Annabel) Bernhardt, Lynn Morgan, Keri (Marty) Bryant, and great grandchildren Cameron, Stephanie, Erin, Emma, and Ella. Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband Don, sister Lucille (Joseph) Larson, brothers Jay (Mabel) Olson, Lyle (Bernice) Olson, Harold (Louise) Olson, and niece Joy Pahl and nephew Gayle Olson.

Funeral service to celebrate the life of Jeanne will be 11AM Tuesday August 16th at Bethel Lutheran Church (Downtown) with Pastor Dennis Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Woodside Cemetery with casket bearers being Wade Bailey, Jay Paul Olson, Craig Olson, Alexander Bernhardt, Keith Denton, and John Otteson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning. Memorials will be offered in her name to Bethel Lutheran Church and Woodside Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
