Phillip T Schneider

Phillip T. Schneider, “Phil”, age 72 of River Falls, WI. Died suddenly on December 17, 2013. Phil was born to George and Frances (Nickel) Schneider on June 27, 1941 in Menomonie, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents George, Sr. & Frances Schneider, siblings George, Jr. and Mary Louise (Coons). He is survived by his older brother, Peter and wife Dorothy, loving wife of 49 years, Joan; son David and his wife, Michelle (Lee); grandchildren Taylor and Gavin; sisters-in-law, Jean (Burt) Gustafson and Judy Malecki; brothers-in-law, James Frazier (Lisa), Dave Coons, as well as many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Phil graduated from Menomonie High School in 1959 and the University of Wisconsin – River Falls in 1963 with honors. He obtained his Master of Science in Teaching Degree in 1966. Phil was an educator having taught high school social studies in the Frederic, Wisconsin school system for 35 years before retiring and moving to River Falls, WI in 2000. He was active in many professional and community activities including: Frederic Nursing Home Board President, Pierce / St. Croix Habitat for Humanity Selection Committee Member, Northwest United Educators (local district President and negotiator), West Central Wisconsin Educators Association – Retired – officer and President of the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Frederic for over 24 years were among his long term commitments. Most recently he was working for Schneider Lawn Care before starting his own company, “Phil’s Cleaning Service”. Phil was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed the outdoors. He was especially interested in his Canadian trips in pursuit of the illusive walleye.

A funeral service for Phil will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 21 at the River Falls United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church as well as from 4-7pm on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Burial will be held privately at the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, WI. Memorials are preferred. Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home. 715.386.3725
