Stephen “Doc” Conners

Stephen John “Doc” Conners, age 63 of Hudson, died September 4, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Doc was born April 21, 1951 in Milwaukee to parents James, Sr. and Mary (Kohl) Conners. He attended the Holy Family Catholic School in Whitefish Bay, WI and graduated from Whitefish Bay High School. Doc went on to earn an Associates Degree in Business from the Milwaukee Area Technical College. He was united in marriage to Theresa Stenz on November 19, 1977 in Waukesha. Together they have three beloved children, Steve, Sarah and Mary. Doc worked in sales for several companies including; US Hospitality, Northland Directories and Blue Luster. He also managed the Williamsburg Apartments in Hudson.

Doc had a strong faith in God and was devoted himself to the 2:00-3:00 a.m. Adoration Prayer at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Stillwater, MN. He led prayer groups and attended services at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hudson. Doc believed strongly in the use of vitamins and supplements as natural medicine. He enjoyed listening to Classic Rock and Jazz music, sharing his strong Republican political views, and playing poker with his friends, often four to six days a week.

Doc is survived by his wife of 36 years, Theresa; children, Steven, Sarah (Dan Johnston) and Mary; father, James Sr.; siblings, Mary Jo Hencke, James Jr., Nora (Duane) Wyatt, Michael (Becky); brother-in-law, Joe Unger; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; and sister Patricia Unger.

A visitation will be held for Doc from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred.
