Robert “Bob” Loe

Robert A. “Bob” Loe, age 64 of Stillwater, died peacefully October 8, 2014 at his home.

Robert was born July 7, 1950 in Independence, MO to parents Albert and Marjorie (White) Loe. He was the youngest of three children. Robert spent most of his childhood in Liberty, MO where his parents owned and operated the Flamingo Motor Lodge Motel. He attended Brick Monroe Elementary School, a two room schoolhouse in Liberty, MO, and graduated from Bolton High School in Alexandria, LA in 1968.

After high school, Robert married Sherrie Spence. Together they had two beloved children, Jeff and Jennifer. He attended college at Louisiana State University – Alexandria and joined the Army National Guard.

In 1972, Robert started working for 3M repairing copy machines in Houston, TX. To challenge himself, Robert would time each repair job, always trying to get faster. With each fix he would attempt to make adjustments on how he held a tool or the angle he held a replacement part to try to gain speed. He had fixing copy machines down to a science. Continuing to challenge himself, Robert earned a Bachelors of Science Degree from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA. He retired from 3M as a Marketing Manager on March 31, 2007.

Robert was united in marriage to Barbara Lammers on February 5, 1993 in Kapalua, HI. He had a strong faith in God. Robert was a deacon at his church and became an Ordained Minister to perform his daughter’s wedding ceremony. He also used his spiritual talents serving with a nursing home ministry around Stillwater. Robert’s talents also included woodworking. He had just about every woodworking tool imaginable and the knowledge to go along with them. He would gladly give household repair advice to anyone in need. Robert was fascinated with computer technology and photography; and he loved music, especially anything by Elvis.

Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Jeff and Jennifer (John) Locke; grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Cody; Alex and Lauren Locke; siblings, Ron (Joan) and Patti (Harold) Hildreth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
