Maurice “Pat” Martin

Maurice “Pat” Martin, age 75 of St. Paul passed away December 31, 2014 at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury.  Pat was born December 13, 1939 in Baldwin, WI to Ronald and Mildred (Harnick) Martin.  Pat worked as a machinist for 20 plus years for Capitol Gears in St. Paul.  While working as a machinist, he also owned and operated Martin’s Painting.  Until his death, Pat loved his job working at Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul in charge of physical plant maintenance.

Outside of being a hard worker, Pat’s true passion was Harley-Davidson motorcycles.  He enjoyed riding and was fortunate to spend the past 25 years attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.  Last August, after several years together, he married his best friend Cynthia at the Rally.

Past Pat’s strong and tough exterior, he was a man with a gracious and giving heart; never hesitating to help others.  He was a loving husband and father, who took great pride in his five sons; David, Ken, Tim, Tony and Joe.  He also loved his puppies, Taz, Harley, Oreo and Pebbles.  We honor Pat’s wish to include the urns of his beloved Taz and Harley, so they may lay beside him in eternal rest.

Pat will remain in the hearts of his wife and best friend, Cynthia; sons, David Scott, Ken (Cecelia), Tim “Timmy” (Lori), Anthony and Joe (Angela); his step-children, Valerie Junjak, Corey Broms, and Cole Broms; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack, Maxine (Charles), Kathy (Gerald) Rose, his twin brother, Mike, and Mark; and his girls, Oreo and Pebbles, and well as friends, co-workers and acquaintances in which Pat had touched their lives with his kindness.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Mildred; and brother, Jim.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Monday, January 5, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine Street in Hudson, with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will take place at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Cylon, WI. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be: David Scott Martin, Ken Martin, Tim Martin, Anthony Martin, Joe Martin, Chad Martin and Cole Broms.  Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson (715) 386-3725.
