Alan William Johnson, age 54 of Woodville WI, died suddenly at home on Sunday, June 26, 2016 while he was recovering from a recent open heart surgery. Alan was born July 9, 1961 in Baldwin, WI to parents Arthur E. and Marjorie L. (Ferg) Johnson. Alan was a graduate of Baldwin-Woodville High School.
Alan will be remembered as a hard working man who was honest and generous. Alan had previously worked at Ideal Door in Baldwin, all while working around the family farm as well. Outside of work, Alan enjoyed bowling league, billiards league, and snowmobiling. Though much of his life revolved around his farm and his cattle, Alan enjoyed time spent with family at holidays and family gatherings, and being the kind of neighbor who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His friends meant a lot to him, and Alan always enjoyed taking a moment to stop and visit with people when he could. He will be missed by family and friends alike.
Alan is survived by his sisters, Lovine (Clair) Kistner of Downsville, Sylvia Kiesow of Glenwood City, and Linda Anderson of Hudson; nieces and nephews, Tammy (Mike) Olson, Sally (Josh) Eddy, Rick (Kim) Kistner, Jeremy Hawkins (friend Rachel Dashner), and Tyler Anderson; several great nieces and great nephews; as well as many close friends, fellow farmers and helpful neighbors. Alan was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his sister, Audrey Johnson.
Funeral Services for Alan W. Johnson will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 221 Lockwood Street in Woodville WI with Pastor Andy Boe officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church, and also from 4:00-8:00pm on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin. Burial will take place at the Baldwin Cemetery with Mike Dorwin, Catlan Rusch, Rick Kuepker, Jeremy Hawkins, Travis Dorwin, and Rick Schillinger serving as his casketbearers.
