Doris Boldt

Doris Marie (Dumond) Boldt, age 81 of Baldwin died on August 31, 2017 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota as a result of injuries sustained from a fall. Doris was surrounded by her loving family as God peacefully called her to His eternal home.

Doris was born August 18, 1936 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin to parents Leaon and Dora Dumond. Doris grew up in the Ellsworth area and attended Pleasant Valley, Hammond and Baldwin schools. She was united in marriage to Glen Richard Boldt on September 20, 1952. Together they raised six children on their farm north of Baldwin bordering Pine Lake. They eventually sold the farm but remained living on the lake they loved and valued. Doris enjoyed working various jobs over the years but her family and home was always first priority.

Doris will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. Doris was especially delighted with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. Her fun sense of humor, quick wit and generous, loving ways were appreciated by all who knew and loved her.

Doris loved gatherings and holidays when the entire family was together. She was an exceptional cook and loved to bake; her endless supply of Christmas and chocolate chip cookies were family favorites. Doris was also gifted in crocheting and embroidery and leaves numerous pieces for her loved ones to cherish. Over the years she enjoyed visiting and playing cards with neighbors and friends, traveling, annual family weekends up north, out dancing with Glen, and simply enjoying daily life on the lake. Most recently Doris could often be found outside on the swing over-looking Pine Lake with Glen at her side or inside completing a puzzle together.

Doris was a woman of strong faith, who loved God, her church and its members. She looked forward to attending worship services with Glen each Sunday at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, where she loved to sing her favorite hymns and always enjoyed coffee fellowship afterward.

Doris was a lady of class, beauty and dignity with a loving smile and a huge heart. In her later years the effects of Alzheimer’s gradually took hold, altering her to a certain extent, yet she remained the sweetest, kindest, most caring and loving lady with the same beautiful smile. Doris’ life was a true reflection of God’s love and her family will forever be comforted by memories of her tender loving care. They rejoice that she now rests eternally with God and is free from the binds of Alzheimer’s.

Doris will forever remain in the hearts of her husband Glen; her children, Glenda (David) Anderson, Debbie (Dennis) Mathison, Brenda Helgeson, Gary (Sherry) Boldt, Brad (Amy) Boldt and Becky (Mike) Schramski; grandchildren Jeremy, Gina (Abe), Scott (Angela), Jessica, Heather (Tim), Kyle (Nikki), Trevor (Lindsey), Derek (Alicia), Aaron (Bailey), Brock (Kaylee), Brittanie (Scott), Dylan, Conner and Aubree; great-grandchildren Austin, Hallee, Audrey, Stella, Liam, Wyatt, William and Weston; sister Darlene Lynum, sisters-in-law Arlene (Pete) Ortman, Edna Dumond; brother-in-law Marty Herbers, as well as other relatives, neighbors and countless friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leaon and Dora Dumond; brothers Dale (Delores) Dumond, Galen Dumond; sister Marlys Herbers; sisters-in-law Maxine (Howard) Bakke, Belva Bradley; brothers-in-law Evertt (Eleanor) Boldt, Larry Boldt, Bob (Edna) Boldt and Robert Lynum.
