Donald J. Cahoy

Donald J. Cahoy, 91 of Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2017. Donald was born on June 16, 1926 to Thomas and Helen Cahoy in Burke, South Dakota. After high school, he bravely served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a radio repairman. On October 12, 1946, Donald was united in marriage to Edna Blood and they were blessed with four children; David, Carolyn, Mary and Tom. He proudly owned and operated Don’s Barber Shop in downtown Hudson for 58 years.

Donald was active in his community by volunteering his time to the Boy Scouts, VFW, Chamber of Commerce, and Bethel Lutheran Church. Don enjoyed hiking, hunting, camping, and skiing; he cherished every moment spent outdoors. Donald also enjoyed traveling and exploring God’s beautiful earth. He treasured his time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and adored his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edna Cahoy; children, David and Lois Cahoy, Carolyn and David Wickert, Mary Cahoy, and Tom and Julie Cahoy; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; his in-laws, Arlene Mrkonich, Alice Okonek, and Wayne Brooks; and special friends, Harold and Ruth Ziemann.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church – Downtown Campus – in Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Willow River Cemetery.
