Patricia Claire Rios, age of 70 of Hudson, passed away October 17, 2017 at the Comforts of Home in Hudson. Patricia was born August 9, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Merrill Max and Ruth Surges. She attended Waterford Union High in Milwaukee. After high school, Pat worked as a waitress, and then found her true calling as a truck driver. She loved driving the big rigs and her time on the road. Pat’s kind heart had a special place for babies and dogs. She loved the color purple, and proudly drove a purple motorcycle. Pat truly enjoyed being around others, and a great sense of humor that was sure to brighten anyones day.

Pat is survived by her brother, Ron (Nadia) Surges of MO; nieces and nephews; guardian and dear friend, Judy (Darrell) Smock of Hudson; and many special caregivers that lovingly cared for Pat throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Ruth Surges; her grandparents; brother, Merrill Max Surges II; and infant daughter, Maria Elizabeth Surges.

A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 20 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with Reverend Philip Bushy officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Private interment will take place at Wisconsin Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Milwaukee.
