Dolores Ruth Nisen, age 93 of Hammond, passed away on November 27, 2017. Dolores was born on January 20, 1924, the daughter of Peter and Ruth (Duckert) Rasmussen.

Dolores thoroughly enjoyed her time spent knitting; she loved to carefully craft scarves as well as afghans. Dolores also took pleasure in her gardening; she planted and tended to her wonderfully colorful roses and other flowers as often as she could.

Dolores will remain in the hearts of her sons, Alan (Cathy) Nisen of Danville, CA, and Peter Nisen of Baldwin, WI; grandchildren, Eric (Melissa) Nisen of Pleasanton, CA, and Kelly Nisen of Eugene, OR; as well as numerous close friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arvid J. Nisen; siblings, Clyde, Don, and Kenny.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-6 PM on Thursday, December 7, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI.

Memorials preferred to Adoray Hospice, who provided wonderful care and comfort in her last days.
