Sandra Kay Johnson

Sandra Kay Johnson (Lindow), age 71 of Hammond, passed away on January 18, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Sandra was born on August 28, 1946 to William and Velma (Minor) Lindow in Menomonie, WI. On June 3, 1967, she was united in marriage to Robert W. Johnson and that union was blessed with 2 daughters, Jennifer and Tammy.

Sandra’s most important work in her life was loving and being there for her family. She worked as a stay at home mom while her children were young. She then worked at Arrow Building Center for many years and later as a realtor until retirement. Sandra spent time volunteering as a Sunday school teacher, teacher’s aide, helping with North Hudson Pepperfest, and serving on the transportation board at the ADRC. She also assisted with the arts and crafts of the residents of the American Heritage Center.

Sandra was an incredibly wise, kind and generous Christian woman who made time for anyone and everyone. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

She will remain in the hearts of her husband of 50 years, Robert W. Johnson; daughters, Jennifer Harer (Todd Hartwig) and Tammy (Duane) Chapman; grandsons, Braedon Harer and Hunter Chapman; mother, Velma Lindow; sister, Mary Kay (Paul) Mahler; niece and nephew, Katie and William Mahler; brother-in-laws, Harlan (LuAnn) Johnson and James (Barb) Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Lindow, and grandparents, Jim and Gladys Minor and Emil and Rosa Lindow.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10AM – 12PM (Noon) on Thursday, January 25 at Cross Lutheran Church, 1246 County Road TT, Roberts, WI, with a Memorial Service for Sandy at 12PM. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorials preferred to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory in Baldwin, WI.
