Thomas D. Lowe

Thomas Daniel Lowe, age 88, of River Falls, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2018 on his family farm.

Tom was born September 22, 1929 on the family farm in River Falls to Hugh and Kathryn (Gowan) Lowe. He graduated from River Falls High School in 1947, and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Tom took over operation of the family farm at age 17, after the death of his father. He was united in marriage to Beverly Jenson on December 19, 1953 in River Falls, and the couple were blessed with four daughters. Horses were a central part of Tom’s life and he owned and operated Kinni Valley Riding Stables with his girls for over 40 years.  In the winter he worked at several local ski hills. Tom was a talented singer and sang for many years with barbershop groups in the St. Croix Valley and professionally sang at many weddings. He also enjoyed woodworking and delighted in making western stirrups and furniture pieces for friends and family.

Tom will remain in the heart of his wife of 64 years, Beverly; daughters, Elizabeth Lowe, Margaret (Walter) Fuchs, Ellen Lowe, and Carolyn (Mike) Laurel; grandchildren, Ashley (Frank) Chiarappa, Joshua Fuchs, Connor Fuchs, Will and Drew Manns, and Isabel and Greta Laurel; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, John Lowe and Marlys Sauer.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at the Ezekiel Lutheran Church, 202 2nd St., River Falls. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the church on Wednesday. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls.

Tom will be missed by his family and friends, but they will cherish the memories and all of his stories.
