Frances “Fran” Foslien

Frances “Fran” Foslien, age 75 of Hudson, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Mayo Clinic of Rochester, MN. Fran was born February 28, 1943, in Alexandria, MN, the daughter of John and Ella (Kreilkamp) Wagner. On October 8, 1960, she was united in marriage to Floyd Foslien in St. Paul, MN. Their union was blessed with three children: Scott, Sonja, and Margaret.

Fran worked as a waitress for various restaurants throughout the the years while raising her children. Although Fran held numerous waitressing positions, her absolute favorite job was being a mother and eventually a grandmother. Fran had a limitless and unwavering love for her family; she was proud to be a mom to the entire neighborhood. She made sure everyone in her home was promptly fed as well as making sure the house itself was clean and inviting at all times for guests and family. Fran thoroughly enjoyed making meals for the holidays as well as a hearty and satisfying German meal whenever she could. She had a vast appreciation for gardening and planting a variety of beautiful flowers each spring. 

Fran will remain in the hearts of her husband, Floyd; children, Sonja (James) Johnson and Margaret (Peter) Skinner; grandchildren, Jonathan (Amber) Foslien, Robert Foslien, Samantha (Josh) Lockwood, William Johnson, and Floyd B. Johnson; great-grandchildren, Logan, Jackson, Levi, and Olivia Lockwood; daughter-in-law, Dianna Foslien; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family and countless friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ella; son, Scott Foslien; siblings, Mariannne Fousek, John Wagner, Pat Bitzan, Francis Wagner, James Wagner, Alice Thoennes, Judith Gray, David Wagner, Virginia Erickson, Isabel Boos, and Annabelle Wagner.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church of Hudson, WI, followed by a Funeral Service for Fran beginning at 10 AM. Lunch will be served immediately following the Funeral Service. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI. Further services and interment will take place at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at West Moe Lutheran Church of Brandon, MN.
