Stanley G. Hanson

Stanley G. Hanson, age 84, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Baldwin Care Center. Stanley was born December 19, 1933, the son of Christ and Emma (Krause) Hanson. Stanley attended Baldwin high school, where he graduated with the class of 1951. He enlisted in the United States Armed Forces following his graduation, and dutifully served as a mechanic in the Air Force during the Korean War. On June 30, 1956, Stanley was united in marriage to Carolyn Rae Gaustad at the North Rush River Church. Stanley and Carolyn were blessed with five children, and shared 61 years of unmistakable happiness, faith and love before Carolyn’s passing in December of 2017.

Stanley was proud of his faith, family and dedication to hard work. He became an exceptional mechanic and assisted with the establishment of numerous gas and fuel lines for various maintenance companies; he was responsible for the sale and installation of milking systems throughout the area. Stanley found peace and comfort in his travels on a motorcycle; he explored the majority of the United States with Carolyn close by his side, as well as voyages to another country in Europe or the far reaches of Northern Canada.

Stanley will remain in the hearts of his children, Shelley (Kent) Wynveen, Christine (Eric Barg) Hanson, Scott (Kate) Hanson, Cynthia (Jerry) Hunt, and Carol (Andy) Jensen; grandchildren, Trevor (Tanya Kober) Wynveen, Angela Wynveen, Joseph Hunt, Jennifer (Brandon) Garbrick, Aubreona (Luke) Vannet; seven great-grandchildren, Teagen, Isabella, Gabriella, Arianna, Piper, Scarlett, and Avaya; siblings, Florence Larson and Toots Holle; as well as many extended family members and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; parents, Christ and Emma; siblings, Ed (Phyllis) Hanson, Helen (George) Barringer, Margaret (Wilbur) Landaal, Herman Hanson, and Raymond Hanson.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Peace Lutheran Church of Baldwin, WI, followed by a Memorial Service for Stanley at 6:00 PM. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church.
